Mentoring
Supervision and research development.
Contributed to the supervision, mentoring, and tutoring of more than 20 BSc and MSc students across Computer Science, Human-Centered AI, Artificial Intelligence for Science and Technology, Data Science, and Theory and Technology of Communication.
Supervised and co-supervised work on Human–AI Interaction, conversational agents, Large Language Models, AI in education, explainability, Medical AI, healthcare data science, predictive modelling, regulatory aspects of AI-enabled medical devices, and evidence synthesis.
Current supervised research streams include Human–Generative AI interaction in higher education, explanation efficacy in conversational agents, abstention/selective prediction, sarcopenia imaging, Parkinson’s prediction, and dementia-related machine learning.
International research supervision
Planned Visiting PhD Collaboration · HITZ / UPV-EHU · 2026–2027
Planned scientific collaboration within the HADQ program, focused on methodological consolidation and validation, conversational AI, healthcare applications, platform testing, and joint scientific outputs.
IEC / CEI
Member of IEC/SC 62A/JWG 9 on autonomous medical equipment, software, and systems; Department Representative in CEI SC 62.
Program Committees & Reviewing
Selected conference service includes Program Committee and reviewing roles for AIED, AIES, AIME, HWID, and INTERACT, among others, as well as subreviewing for CHI; Session Chair roles include AIED 2025 and HCII 2025. Journal service includes reviewing for Q1 journals, with manuscripts spanning Human–AI Interaction, HCI, Responsible AI, Medical Informatics, and AI in Education.
DISCo Change Agent
Departmental liaison for Faculty Development and teaching innovation, including the responsible integration of Generative AI in university teaching.
IFIP
Member of IFIP WG 13.6 Human-Work Interaction Design and participant in WG 13.11 / WG 12.14 Human-Centred Intelligent Interactive Systems.
